Gregory Petrossian is a technologist, community builder, and advocate for Portland’s growth into the vibrant “Silicon Forest” of tomorrow. Born and raised in Portland, Greg has dedicated his career to leveraging data and technology to drive transformative business outcomes while fostering connections and collaboration within the tech community.
Greg currently serves as the Global Lead for the Microsoft Partnership at DataStax. Greg specializes across the technology stack, including Agentic AI, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Process Automation, and Enterprise Application Development, specifically in the Microsoft ecosystem of tools and Azure cloud.
His expertise lies in helping organizations, particularly in regulated industries like healthcare, drive digital transformation and unlock trustworthy insights to make smarter decisions.
Greg’s passion for community runs deep.
Over the past seven years, he has led Microsoft-based communities, including the Portland Fabric User Group, Portland Power Platform User Group, and Portland Azure User Group. He was also a founding member of the Technology Association of Oregon’s original Data Analytics, Strategy, and Leadership Community, which evolved into today’s flourishing AI & Data Community.
His dedication to education extends beyond the community. Greg has crafted and taught the Master’s course “Sales Engineering for Data & AI” at Willamette University, distilling his expertise in consultative sales, solution architecture, and Challenger Sale tactics into a curriculum designed to empower future technologists and leaders.
When he’s not driving innovation or building communities, Greg enjoys learning tennis, honing his golf game, exploring the world of blockchain, and exploring foodie adventures.

Passionate about community building, Greg has led local Microsoft-based User Groups, including the Portland Fabric User Group and Portland Power Platform User Group, for over six years. He was also a founding member of the Technology Association of Oregon AI & Data Community.
